Cooler temperatures can be expected on Wednesday in the wake of a cold front passage. Morning lows will start out in the 40s, with temperatures rising into the 60s during the afternoon. Mostly sunny skies can be expected, though it may be a little cloudy in the southeast early in the morning. Winds will be from the northwest at about 10 MPH.
Thanksgiving Day should be pleasant and dry. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s Red River to the middle 70s much of Central Texas and areas west of I-35. Readings will fall into the 50s and low 60s during the evening. No rain is expected, but clouds will be increasing late in the day across parts of Central Texas.
We're watching a storm system that will arrive by the end of the week and linger through much of the weekend. This system should bring some much needed rainfall to the region. Heaviest amounts should occur along and south of Interstate 20. Most of the activity should be showers, but a few strong storms may occur late Friday into Saturday with some small hail possible, despite the area being entrenched in a cool airmass behind a cold front that arrives Friday. If you're planning either ground or air travel, it will be wet, cool, and brisk, so conditions will not be ideal. Continue to monitor forecasts for any changes regarding weather associated with this system.
